I was born in Brazos County, Texas, the town of Bryan, the nation of Texas A&M University. My father had just gotten his second degree from A&M. My elder son is an Aggie. A niece, nephew-in-law, and sister-in-law are Aggies. I am too old a female to be a graduate of A&M absent nonexistent extrinsic circumstances, but my inclination is to the maroon although I have a J.D. degree with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. The internal tension and that in the family exists more because of my husband's orange blood than my orange inclination.
Today, however, Nurture trumps nurture.The University of Texas is the reigning champion in football, a feat even more astounding to me because they hold that title in baseball as well. With the rest of Texas, if not the rest of the world, today I say "Thank you Vince Young and the Horns" and
